It arose in England in the 19th century and remains unsurpassed for its richness and complexity of flavour. And Bramley whose key feature is the very high level of acidity, and the excellent strong apple flavour. 2009 was the 200th anniversary of the discovery of Bramley Seedling, and remarkably, the original tree is still alive in the same garden in Nottinghamshire, England.
