Garam masala is an aromatic mixture of spices, used as a base in many Indian curry dishes to bring more flavour and warmth. One of the key differences between curry powder and garam masala is the fact that garam masala is not based on turmeric; the main ingredient in curry powder. Garam masala has a sweeter taste and includes coriander, cumin and cardamom along with many other spices. Garam masala is better used as a finishing spice, stirred in after the dish has been cooked to preserve the robust and aromatic flavours of the spice blend. Plastic tubs, once used please recycle.
